About Me

Chemostrat1646
St. Petersburg, Russia
I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Geology and hold M.S./B.S. degrees in the same. My primary interest is sedimentary/isotope geochemistry, particularly as applied to paleoclimatology, but I enjoy studying all aspects of the Earth sciences. For me, this blog is a means to that end, as it challenges me to better understand each subdiscipline to respond to claims made within the Young-Earth Creationist movement. I am happily married, and I am an active member of the Presbyterian Church in America. In my spare time, I enjoy studying and discussing theology, history, textual and literary criticism, Classical/Koine Greek, and Russian language. Currently, I am living in St. Petersburg, Russia, but I consider the western United States (specifically Colorado/Utah) my home. If you are here for the first time, please read the first two posts for background, guidelines, and contact information. I look forward to hearing from you—especially those raised in the Young-Earth Creationist paradigm. If you feel challenged on all sides as a result of holding this position, we should talk!
